HILDE WIDVEY
Hilde Widwey is a dedicated Museum Educator at the Norwegian Industrial Worker Museum, and has been a vibrant part of the Rjukan community for the past 19 years. Originally from Rogaland, Hilde began her career in the graphic industry as a typographer before moving to Oslo to deepen her expertise in fine arts and textiles.
Hilde's broad practice spans various fields, and she is a vital presence in the local community. Her work is centered around the concept of "the in-between spaces," exploring themes of memory, relational projects, work practices, language, communication, and tradition versus change. She is deeply interested in the paths from idea to product, focusing on both visible and invisible patterns.
Passionate about fostering artistic growth, Hilde envisions a thriving artist community in Rjukan. She believes that the town, with its unique industrial heritage, offers hidden opportunities for artists. Hilde advocates for establishing long-term residential and workshop spaces to integrate artists as active participants in the local community, enriching both cultural life and social dynamics.
